SignalDeck replaces the basic walkie-talkie app with a complete station. Not every feature works on every phone; it depends on the phone's radio module. Every screen also explains itself in the app, under Device → Help & how-to.
The main screen: a big neon channel display, a round push-to-talk key and a signal meter. Soft SQ opens for weak signals and stays shut on noise. Live captions turn what you hear into text, on the phone and offline.
A full channel editor, favourites and zones, nearby repeaters, and VFO mode to tune any frequency in range. Import and export CSV in a CPS-compatible layout, and back up and restore everything.
Talkgroups and private calls, DMR text messages with threads and quick replies, Last heard with RadioID names, and talkgroup lists.
Position beacons, messages with automatic acknowledgement and a map of stations, with every common packet type decoded. A KISS TNC for apps like APRSdroid, an APRS-IS internet gateway and an optional fill-in digipeater.
SSTV send and receive in Robot modes, FT8, RTTY and Morse decoding, DTMF, pager messages, Winlink e-mail over the radio, and ICS-213 forms.
Hear M17 digital voice on supported phones, with the caller and their text. Transmit and M17 text messages need the modified SignalDeck module firmware, which is not available for every phone.
NOAA weather radio with SAME alert decoding, and keyword alerts for the words you care about.
Coverage maps that log where you were heard, POTA and SOTA spotting, satellite pass predictions with Doppler tuning for ISS APRS and SSTV, a band scope, and fox hunting by signal strength.
A built-in, PIN-protected web page on your own network runs the radio from a laptop or tablet, with audio, pager and messages.
Talk and listen from your car's screen.
An optional loader for the radio module's own firmware. The factory image is kept as a backup, and several safety checks run before anything is written. Released images come from the firmware project.
